Chris Lumb - President and CEO
Chris became the CEO of Micralyne in 1994 and has since been involved in all aspects of Micralyne's MEMS development. Leading Micralyne in its transition from a university-owned not-for-profit to a privately held corporation in 1998, Chris has helped generate strong top-line compound annual growth over the past several years, and regularly deliver net income and return on equity for its operations. Prior to joining Micralyne, Chris held increasingly senior engineering and business management positions in technology-intensive organizations, including the Alberta Research Council. Chris currently sits on several boards including the NINT (National Institute of Nanotechnology) board and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for CMC Microsystems, a non-profit corporation that provides microsystems researchers with industry-calibre resources.


Len Friedenberg - Vice President, Operations (outgoing)
Len has worked for Micralyne since 1984 and is responsible for MEMS manufacturing, MEMS product delivery, quality, safety, facilities development and operation. Len has an extensive background in manufacturing and general management in advanced technology companies. Prior to joining Micralyne, Len was the President and Co-founder of an international electronics manufacturing organization specializing in electronic products for the agricultural industry. Recent achievements include reorganizing procedures from a laboratory focus to a manufacturing focus, resulting in increased MEMS product quality and profitability.

Alan Richards - Vice President, Operations (incoming)
Alan joined Micralyne in 2007 and is responsible for MEMS manufacturing, MEMS product delivery, MEMS product quality, safety, facilities development and operation. Alan has an extensive background in Microelectronics and Semiconductor manufacturing, gained in several of the leading companies in the High Tech sector. Prior to joining Micralyne, Alan held Senior Management and Executive positions in successful global companies. He has had successes and gained awards in Best Maintenance Practices, Best Facility, and Engineering Management. and profitability.

Derek Hudson - Chief Financial Officer
Derek joined Micralyne as Chief Financial Officer in 1997. Derek is responsible for managing all the finance, administrative, human resources, taxation and legal affair activities. He also serves as corporate secretary. Before joining Micralyne, Derek spent 12 years with Price Waterhouse as an auditor and as a consultant in financial management, business strategy and information systems. At Micralyne, Derek is actively involved in all areas of the business, with most of his attention focused on increasing Micralyne's efficiency and profitability. Derek has also been a customer account manager and has conducted leadership training for Micralyne staff. Derek is a CA and has been a member of the Instiitute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta since 1987.

Yan Loke - Vice President, Engineering
Yan joined Micralyne in December of 2002 and is responsible for managing all customer-driven and internally-defined MEMS development projects as well as ensuring Micralyne has the technical and R&D resources to expand its position as a market leading provider of MEMS technology. Prior to joining Micralyne, Yan was the MEMS Foundry Manager for the optical switch manufacturer OMM Inc. in San Diego California and a Member of the Technical Staff at the Institute of Microelectronics in Singapore.

Jim Ramsden – Vice President, Business Development
Jim joined Micralyne in 1999, and has successfully worked towards establishing Micralyne as a worldwide leader in the development and manufacturing of MEMS products. By keeping Micralyne customer focused, Jim will ensure Micralyne continues to grow the business and meet our customer’s requirements. Prior to joining Micralyne, Jim was responsible for new product development at Sherrit and Westaim. Jim has a MBA from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. In addition, Jim is also a member of The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta.
