Mike Ciprick, C.A.

Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mike Ciprick joined Micralyne in July 2011 as Chief Financial Officer and was later appointed to Acting CEO. Mike also serves as the Corporate Secretary.

Before joining Micralyne, Mike provided over 16 years of continuous financial leadership for steel products manufacturer, AltaSteel Ltd.($250M revenue) and subsidiary, Moly-Cop Canada ($100M revenue) where he held positions as Finance Manager, CFO, and Director of Human Resources in both Edmonton, AB and Kamloops, BC.

During his tenure at AltaSteel Ltd., Mike led a number of unique assignments which included the acquisition and integration of a $65M raw material supplier to AltaSteel and guiding the vendor due diligence and sales process of AltaSteel as part of Anglo American’s $1B sale of the Moly-Cop International group of companies to One Steel Inc. in 2010. Mike graduated in 1988 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science and received his C.A. designation in 1995 while working at KPMG.

Yan QiYan Qi

Vice President, Operations

Yan has been Vice President, Operations since October 2010. Yan joined Micralyne in September of 1995, and has more than 16 years of hands-on experience in MEMS fabrication, strategic production planning, team/talent development and operations management.

Yan is responsible for leading the Operations team including Fabrication, Test & Assembly, Planning & Inventory Control, Operations Engineering, and Equipment Engineering. As one of the founding members of the Operations group, Yan is devoted to the development and improvement of Micralyne’s manufacturing capability as a MEMS foundry. Yan has a proven track record for achieving both foundry business deliverables and engineering project fabrication needs.

Yan communicates fluently in both English and Chinese. She holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin University of Science and Technology and a Master’s degree in Engineering from University of Alberta.

Siamak Akhlaghi

Vice President Marketing and Sales

Siamak Akhlaghi has been the VP Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Micralyne Inc. since summer 2012. He has responsibility for managing Sales and Marketing, Strategic Planning and Customer Relationships in Micralyne.

Siamak has more than 12 years of MEMS experience in engineering, product development, sales and managerial roles. He has a deep entrepreneurial spirit which drives him to be both strategic and hands-on. He has made significant contributions to the overall health of the company through the rapid growth in revenue from strategic customers.

Siamak graduated from McGill University with a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering in 2000.

Peter Hrudey

Director of Engineering and Quality

Peter Hrudey has been Director of Engineering and Quality for Micralyne since September 2012. He is responsible for all aspects of Development and Quality Engineering, leading a team of 12 engineers and scientists to deliver product for all pre-production customers, as well as develop effective systems for quality management.

Having worked in micro- and nano-technology since 2000, Peter originally joined Micralyne in 2008 and has held various positions including Director of Strategic Technology, and Director of Research and Development. His skills have been applied to technical projects, IP development, strategic planning, technical sales, funding procurement, strategic planning and IP strategy. Peter was key in securing external funding for the development of Micralyne’s WLP technology to better address its key clients’ near-term product development needs.

Peter is a Professional Engineer with a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Alberta.
