Edmonton, Alberta, May 27, 2002 - Micralyne Inc., one of the largest independent MEMS companies in North America, today announced it will be exhibiting at next week's IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (Booth #1350) in Seattle.
"The MTT-S show is a significant show for us as we offer a wide range of products to wireless/RF telecommunications companies", commented Bruce Alton, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, Telecommunications & Electronics for Micralyne. "We had an excellent show last year and our telecom related revenues last year were up significantly despite the overall downturn in the economy and in the telecommunications space in particular. We have had a lot of success due to the fact that we can offer product development expertise along with prototype and volume manufacturing all under one roof".
Micralyne will be displaying samples of its work in addition to providing information on its complete product line targeting the telecommunications and RF/wireless marketplaces. Micralyne's marketing and technical staff will also be on hand to answers questions and to discuss specific development opportunities. Micralyne offers extensive MEMS product development expertise in addition to a full line of integrated passive components required for high-end optical switching and transmission systems.
Our product line includes:
- Silicon Optical Bench Systems - development platforms that serve as a means to integrate optical components and subsystems thus reducing development and manufacturing costs.
- Integrated Passive Components - standard and custom silicon and ceramic based components for fiber alignment (including silicon v-groove chips), thermal management (including laser diode submounts) and other optical applications.
- Optical Switch Systems - development, in partnership with clients, of proprietary MEMS optical switch systems.
About Micralyne
Micralyne develops and manufactures microfabricated and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems)-based products. Micralyne is one of the largest independent companies in the world that manufactures MEMS in high volumes. MEMS technology is built on the premise of making industrial components smaller, faster and less expensive and facilitates radical improvements in the miniaturization of electronic and mechanical devices. These types of devices are used in many industries including communications, automotive, aerospace, and life sciences. More specifically, Micralyne’s micron-scale solutions (i.e. 1000 microns = 1 millimetre) are found in automotive emission sensors, optical switching technology in telecommunication networks, lab-on-a-chip devices for drug discovery, and commercial press equipment for printing today’s most popular magazines. Micralyne is a profitable and growing company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
