Edmonton, Alberta, August 27, 2002 - Micralyne Inc., one of the largest independent MEMS companies in North America, today announced it will be exhibiting at the 2002 National Fiber Optics Engineers Conference (Booth #2526) in Dallas from September 15 - 19, 2002. "NFOEC an excellent show as the technical leaders from the telecommunications industry worldwide will attend", commented Bruce Alton, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, Telecommunications & Electronics for Micralyne. "We've attended the show for a number of years and this is the first year we will be exhibiting. Despite the downturn in the telecom market, our business in this area remains strong and we look forward to meeting new prospective clients".
Micralyne will be displaying samples of its work in addition to providing information on its complete product line targeting the optical telecommunications and RF/wireless marketplaces. Micralyne's marketing and technical staff will also be on hand to answers questions and to discuss specific development opportunities. Micralyne offers extensive MEMS product development expertise in addition to a full line of integrated passive components required for high-end optical switching and transmission systems.
Our product line includes:
- Silicon Optical Bench Systems - development platforms that serve as a means to integrate optical components and subsystems thus reducing development and manufacturing costs.
- Integrated Passive Components - standard and custom silicon and ceramic based components for fiber alignment (including silicon v-groove chips), thermal management (including laser diode submounts) and other optical applications.
- Optical Switch Systems - development, in partnership with clients, of proprietary MEMS optical switch systems.
Parties interested in setting up meetings with Micralyne are encouraged to contact Mr. Jim Ramsden, Director of Sales at 780-431-4407 or at jramsden@micralyne.com.
About Micralyne
Micralyne develops and manufactures microfabricated and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems)-based products. Micralyne is one of the largest independent companies in the world that manufactures MEMS in high volumes. MEMS technology is built on the premise of making industrial components smaller, faster and less expensive and facilitates radical improvements in the miniaturization of electronic and mechanical devices. These types of devices are used in many industries including communications, automotive, aerospace, and life sciences. More specifically, Micralyne’s micron-scale solutions (i.e. 1000 microns = 1 millimetre) are found in automotive emission sensors, optical switching technology in telecommunication networks, lab-on-a-chip devices for drug discovery, and commercial press equipment for printing today’s most popular magazines. Micralyne is a profitable and growing company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
