Micralyne One of Alberta’s Top 25 Employers for 2007
October 16, 2006
Edmonton, Alberta, October 16, 2006 – Micralyne Inc., one of the world’s largest independent microfabrication manufacturers, has been named one of “Alberta’s Top 25 Employers” for 2007 by Mediacorp Canada through the “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” annual competition.
Located in the Edmonton Research Park, Micralyne promotes a balanced lifestyle. Employees are able to lead a healthy balance between family and work because of Micralyne’s excellent family-oriented health benefits, RSP contribution matching, profit sharing plans, and flexible hours program. Even at work, employees find a way to remain active. As an example, during the winter they build an outdoor ice rink to play hockey at lunch.
“The coolest thing about working at Micralyne is the technology we manufacture,” said Steve Jakeway, Micralyne employee. “Used in a variety of objects such as cars, telecom networks and medical devices, the potential of what this technology can do to make a product smaller, faster and less expensive is incredible. I am excited to be a part of an organization that is constantly pushing the boundaries of today’s technology.”
Focusing on the well being of each employee is also a priority at Micralyne. The company provides:
- Opportunities for advancement in all areas of the company
- Paid training, from one day courses to comprehensive certificate programs
- An open door policy to all management and executive levels
- A great team environment
When the company is doing well, it’s because of the hard work put in by employees. Management recognizes this fact and shows their gratitude by organizing staff events throughout the year and by giving away tokens of appreciation such as free movie passes and gift certificates. In fact, for the 2005 holiday season, Micralyne gave each employee an iPod® nano!
