Edmonton, AB – Following its acquisition by FTC Technologies, Micralyne Inc., a leading manufacturer of Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS), today announced plans to expand its MEMS solutions and services business in 2016. Building on a strong base of leading edge customers in several industries, Micralyne now plans to provide solutions based on its deep experience in MEMS chip design, packaging and integration to high growth vertical segments on a global basis. Expanding the breadth of capabilities and the served markets is a natural extension to the current innovative solutions and strong customer support Micralyne is known for.
Micralyne today also announced key executive leadership appointments to drive their business expansion and partnerships in 2016 and beyond. Paul Pickering is appointed as Micralyne’s Chief Revenue Officer with responsibility for Marketing, Sales and Business Development on a global basis. Mr. Pickering brings a 30-year career as a sales and marketing semiconductor professional. Prior to joining Micralyne, Pickering was VP of Worldwide Sales for Innovative Micro Technology based in California. He has led global sales and marketing organizations for multiple public semiconductor manufacturers as well as numerous technology start-up companies. Pickering has more than 18 years of corporate executive experience in sales and marketing. He is a recognized speaker at technology conferences and trade events in the Semiconductor and MEMS industries. Paul is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Concurrent with Paul Pickering’s appointment, Collin Twanow will become VP of Engineering for Micralyne. Mr. Twanow is a fifteen year veteran of Micralyne and has provided a broad contribution to Micralyne in various roles including his most recent role as VP of Sales and Marketing. This change will allow Collin to focus on client technical engagements and lead the expanded development engineering team. Twanow is a Professional Engineer and holds a B.Sc in Engineering Physics as well as an Electrical Engineering M.Eng degree with a specialization in Microfabrication. Collin has also lectured on microfabrication topics at the University of Alberta.
Paul and Collin will both report to Mike Ciprick, President and CEO of Micralyne, along with Yan Qi, who continues to be the VP of Operations. “I am thrilled about the opportunities ahead in the MEMS business and the potential to expand our business and partnerships to serve our current and new customers in growing markets. We are excited to have Paul on board to lead our customer facing programs. Together with Collin now leading development of our valued engineering platforms and capabilities, we aim to delight our customers with our broad MEMS design support and high value MEMS solutions,” said Mike Ciprick.
